How often should a company redesign its website?

AllBusiness.com describes a website as a “process” rather than a “product.” Internet trends are constantly changing in technology, aesthetics, audience, etc., your company’s site should be re-evaluated at least every three months. As for major changes, don’t go more than a year without some virtual revamping.

To put things into perspective, consider car manufacturers. Most release new models every year or two. The newer versions generally have a more modern look and feel, plus they give a new reason for customers to pay attention to the brand. They’ll run faster, offer additional amenities and feature the latest technology. The same should go for your website.

On the other hand, some online users hate change. So, it’s important to consider who visits your site and their preferences before making any major updates.

Remember: Your website is usually the only first impression your company will make.
