Cicero, a German magazine, has recently made waves with their “Politics directly from the source” campaign. In an effort to reach top global politicians Cicero hired the help of a top German artist to carve the politicians’ likenesses on the tip of a pencil. Once completed, Cicero sent the finished pieces to the politicians in a clear display case. The public relations effort proved extremely successful as the agreement rate for interviews with high-ranking global politicians grew from 35% to 65%. The campaign proves that sometimes in order to draw new connections we need to erase the traditional routes.
