It used to be that you, as a public relations coordinator, picked your one-and-only favorite photo from an event, sent it along with your press release to your list of media outlets, then hoped a generous reporter would consider running it.

Now, in the age of Facebook and Instagram, print media outlets are riding the “online album” wave and encouraging not only the best photo from a particular event, but also an entire disc or thumb drive of photos that could serve as a photo gallery on their website.
